Yahoo has agreed a deal to make it the exclusive search engine for Virgin Mobile's four million subscribers.
After losing out to Google in the fight for dominance of the desktop computer market, this is being seen by some as an attempt to make a comeback
Graeme Oxby, managing director of Virgin Mobile, says it "ensures our customers have all the information they need at their fingertips".
Yahoo will increase its share of mobile search engine users in the UK to 80%.
Around the world Yahoo has now got 70 similar deals to the one with Virgin, theoretically giving it access to 850 million mobile users.
Yahoo's Mitch Lazar said because of that number it'll make them the "starting point for mobile consumers globally, revolutionising the mobile search experience".
